JUNIOR SIGN ON/TRAINING
4 March 2011

The juniors will be field under 6 to under 14 sides as well as an under 18 side this year. The 18s commenced their season with a narrow loss last weekend but showed plenty of talent to suggest another successful year is waiting for them.

The sign on days held on the late January early February weekends were very successful with a good percentage of new families and children joining the club. We welcome back our families from previous years as well as our new sign-ons.

Training has commenced for all junior teams. It commences from 5.30pm on Monday evenings at Homestead Park. There will also be a member of the junior committee available between 6pm & 8pm these evenings for sign-on.

Friday night training commences on 18/3/11 with a free sausage sizzle for the players. The usual BBQ and canteen refreshments will also be available for players, families and supporters. There will also be a Happy Hour between 6.00pm and 7.00pm to help getting that team/club bonding happening all over again.

Following 18/3/11 the under 6s to under 9s will train every Friday evening while the 10s and up will train on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Your coaches and managers will update you on the times.

WYNNUM RUGBY CARNIVAL

The Under 8s, 9s & 10s commence their season at the Wynnum Rugby Carnival that is being held at Elanora Park, Granada Street, Wynnum on Sunday 6/3/11. This carnival has been a big success over the years and gives the players a good warm up for the season ahead. Good Luck to those teams participating.

Under 12 Coach/Manager – Junior Registrar

We are still looking for a coach and manager for our Under 12 side this year and a Club Registrar. If you know of anyone who might be interested in these positions please encourage them to step forward. The pay is not great but the enjoyment is fantastic not to mention the opportunity to meet new friends and broaden horizons.

BBQ ROSTER

For those of you who are familiar with the Friday evening BBQ roster it starts off on Friday 18/3/11 with the U/8s who are seasoned performers from 5.00pm to 6.15pm. These parents will do the set up/preparation & commence cooking. The U/10s will take over from 6.15pm and take it through to close & clean-up at around 7.45 – 8.00pm.

This year it is our intention to have the boys off the training paddock by 7.30
