The 2011 season is fast approaching, and in preparation the Saints will commence pre-season training on Monday, 15 November 2010.
Training will be on Monday and Thursday nights from 6.30pm. Monday nights will be at the Saints' usual home ground, Homestead Park, and also at Usher Park, Rose Street, Daisy Hill on Thursday evenings.
Coaching director Wayne Greenhalgh is putting in place programs for these sessions, with the aim to have fun as well as some of the harder stuff.
Monday night sessions will be based on an intra-club touch football competition which will carry through until 2010 preseason training finishes at the end of the year with a grand final carnvial scheduled for 13 December 2010. Teams will be organised when training starts and will play each other in round robin fixtures, with a finals format and prizes for the winning teams. There is no cost for players joining the touch competition.
Thursday nights will also focus on skills, fun games and fitness sessions. Wayne will provide more details in due course.
All past, current and future players - from colts to seniors and women - are encouraged to get involved with the Saints and get ready for the 2011 season!
